【History 】
Before the establishment of this parish there has been a long history. In 1939 Fr. Vincensio A PaulBunkyo Totsuka, PhD. has established Sakuramachi Hospital and then after his death it has been succeeded by Missionary Sisters of St. John the Apostle. As many people gathered the chapel of this hospital Koganei Church has been established officially as a parish by being separated from Kichijoji church in 1975. At the beginning the holy mass had been held at the chapel of Fuchu cemetery on Sundays but Fuchu church also has been established as a parish in 1990. After that Koganei church has covered Koganei city to be the main area of mission.
